I would love to see the source releases for these to make a play at adding more or different functions.

Would also be great to see a Linden Lab add this to the SecondLife viewer / or a Third Party Viewer group could.

Finally, it should be possible to communicate from opensim code (would most likely need to be the server side) to something like serproxy http://www.lspace.nildram.co.uk/freeware.html to talk to an arduino serial port.

great infographic Rich and well-timed! our desire, with our OpenSim project, is to help address the STEM shortage with a bit of an emphasis on girls and minorities (a large discrepancy within STEM studies and careers)

science is not about rote memorization because science is fun and helps anyone make better decisions in life if they are more scientifically literate

I took a class from you this last fall and I bought 2 Arduino’s – I would like my students to build a program that will allow our solar cells to track the sun. We think a simple timer to a motor will work. Can you help us with the project. We built the rotating solar cell towers out of hot glue and popcycle sticks. We sodered the cells together in series so that they are 1.55 volts in production – so that can charge the on board 1.5 rechargible AA battery. We have a 1.5v motor that rotates the cell tower. But now we need to turn the motor on and off at specific time intervals through the coarse of the day. Can we colaborate?

The firmware is actually a sketch that has to first be uploaded via the Arduino development environment here – http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software … once it is uploaded you can then load up Scratch for Arduino and your running ! ….
